Measurement-Based Care
Creekside has moved forward adopting measurement-based care to guide treatment planning for patients with depression, anxiety and other conditions. Most research trials use checklists to measure severity of symptoms and when there is no improvement in scores a decision is made to alter the treatment plan.
For example, depression symptoms can be measured using the PHQ-9, a nine item rating scale measuring symptoms of depression. The maximum score is 27 and any score over 10 calls for re-evaluation of the treatment plan. There may need to be an adjustment in the dose of medication or referral for cognitive behavioral therapy to address residual problems.
Creekside professionals make service to patients, families, and referral sources a top priority. Each case is addressed in an individualized, comprehensive manner, beginning with the request for service. A broad range of evaluation and therapeutic interventions are available: psychiatric evaluation, medication management, individual psychotherapy, marital and family counseling, and behavioral therapy.
At Creekside Psychiatric Center, we appreciate the opportunity to participate in your health care.
Your questions and suggestions for improvement are always invited.
